WANNA HELP ?
Hi there, I hope you're enjoying this website. I need your help to make it as comprehensive and accurate as possible. If you find a mistake somewhere or have additional information, drop me a line. I'm looking for tourdates, show reviews, setlists, pictures, vinyl pressing informations, compilations the Gimmes appear on or anything that you can think of that belongs on this website. Please report dead links. This is the first website I've ever done so technical advise is welcomed. You can contact me here :
thegimmegimmesrule@gmail.com
I'm also interested in buying or trading the SHANNON 7" on green vinyl. Here's my record list.
If you are the owner of some of the pictures that appear on this website and are surprised (or angry) to find them here. Please accept my apologies and get in touch with me. I'll remove them if you want.
THANK YOUS, CREDITS AND SHIT...
Obviously, many thanks to the band for sharing their sense of humour, their talent and true love of music (and booze...) with us through all these songs. I love you ! You make me wanna be gay.
Thanks to snowboarding, a passion that gave me some of my best times and through which I discovered the band. I bought this video called "Three Ring Circus" in 1997. The first song of the video was "Me And Julio Down By The Schoolyard". "I Am A Rock" was also on there. I'd heard Simon & Garfunkel's versions so many times but these covers just made me want to sing, dance and drink. The artists weren't credited in the video and I had to wait almost a year before I found out who was responsible for these songs. I'm glad I did. In the video, the "I Am A Rock" cover is mixed with the original version. Here it is, as a present from me to you : Simon, Garfunkel and the Gimme Gimmes - I Am A Rock (right-click & "Save target as").
Thanks to all the songwriters who provided the Gimmes with songs that just needed to be played much faster.
Thanks to the Gimme Gimmes lovers from the (ex-nofxwiki) fatwreckwiki message board.
Thank you for being here, reading this shit and supporting the band.
